PDF Tools
Tools that cover the everyday life of a PDF: combine contracts into one file, pull out the pages you need (or delete the ones you don't), rearrange a document visually, shrink a scan below an email limit, turn pages into images or an editable Word document, make a scan searchable, stamp watermarks and page numbers, flatten a filled-in form, fix the hidden metadata, lock a document with a password (or unlock one you know the password to), or sign without printing. All of it happens on your device — the documents you work with here are never uploaded. The one exception, PDF to Markdown, needs a server and says so on its page.
Which PDF tool for which job
Split PDF works from page numbers: extract chosen pages into a new PDF, cut ranges into separate files, save every page on its own, or delete the pages you list. Organize PDF shows every page as a thumbnail, so you can move, rotate and delete by sight. Rotate PDF turns all pages by the same angle, and Reverse PDF fixes a stack scanned back to front. Merge PDF combines several files into one; unlock a password-protected file before you add it.
Compress PDF does the most for scans and photo-heavy files, which often shrink 70–90%, because it rebuilds each page as a compressed image. The catch is that the text can no longer be selected, and a PDF that is mostly real text may not shrink at all, so keep your original. A scan, for its part, has no text layer, so PDF to Word and PDF to Text have nothing to read. Run it through OCR first, then convert the result.
Sign PDF adds an image of a signature you draw or type, not a certificate-based digital signature, and Unlock PDF only removes a password you know. Merging and compressing run in your browser with no fixed size or file-count limit, so what holds back a very large file is your device's memory. OCR has no page cap either, but a long scan takes a few seconds per page.
