How do I make a QR code that never expires?

Use a static QR code, which stores your link or text in the pattern itself instead of pointing to a redirect service. The Tools-Bench QR Code Generator makes static codes: type the URL, pick a size and download PNG or SVG. With no service in between, nothing can expire or be switched off. It's free and needs no sign-up.

About the QR Code Generator

Type a link or any short text, or fill in a Wi-Fi network, a contact card or an email, and get a QR code back instantly. Download it as PNG to drop into a document or slide, or as SVG when it needs to stay razor-sharp at poster size. Error correction is adjustable: higher levels add redundancy so the code still scans when it is printed small, partly covered by a logo, or scuffed. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is logged, there is no account and no watermark — the code is built by JavaScript running on your own machine, which also means it keeps working if your connection drops.

How to use the QR Code Generator

1
Choose what the code holds
A link or text, a Wi-Fi network, a contact card or an email. The forms write the format phones recognise, so you never type it by hand.
2
Pick size and error correction
512 px suits most screens and documents. Choose a higher error-correction level for print, or if a logo will cover part of the code.
3
Download PNG or SVG
PNG pastes anywhere. SVG scales to any size without blurring, which is what you want for print and design tools.

Frequently asked questions

Is the QR code free to use commercially?
Yes. The codes this tool produces are plain QR codes with no tracking redirect, no watermark and no expiry — you own them outright and can print or sell them without restriction.
Why do some free QR codes stop working?
Many generators make dynamic codes: the pattern holds a short link to their own redirect service, which forwards to your URL. When the free trial ends or the service shuts down, the redirect stops and every printed code goes dead. Codes from this tool are static — your link is in the pattern itself — so they keep working. The flip side: the destination can't be changed later.
PNG or SVG — which should I download?
PNG is ready to paste anywhere. SVG stays perfectly sharp at any size, which is what you want for print and design tools.
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code generator?
Here, yes: the code is generated in your browser, so the password is never sent anywhere or logged. Remember that anyone who scans the printed code can read the password, so put it only where guests should have access.
What size should I use for print?
Download the SVG and let your layout tool scale it. As a rule of thumb a printed code should be at least 2 × 2 cm, and bigger if it will be scanned from more than arm's length.
