About the calendar and Norway's public holidays
The calendar shows 2027 month by month with ISO week numbers and every public holiday in Norway, the days Norwegians call "red days". Switch to 2026 or 2028 with the year buttons, and download the calendar as a PDF to print: the whole year on one A4 page, or one month per page with room to write.
Norway's public holidays come from two laws. The Public Holidays Act (lov om helligdager og helligdagsfred) § 2 makes every Sunday a holiday, plus New Year's Day, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Sunday and Monday, and Christmas Day and Boxing Day. 1 May and 17 May come from a separate act of 1947: they are not holidays under the first law, but they are on a par with Sundays, and the act gives a right to full pay for them, with some conditions.
Weeks follow the international standard ISO 8601, as everywhere in Norway: a week runs from Monday to Sunday, and week 1 is the week that contains 4 January. So the first days of January can belong to the last week of the year before, and the week number at the start of each row says which week it is.
